Today's Dawn

 do you smile in the sunshine?
do you hope for rain?

what if i told you
they were both the same?

self-centered is an evil drug
and if you can muster up the strength to love
it is worth it.

communication is underrated
and trust me, i’ve debated
solitude
to avoid the hard parts.

but if there was never rain,
we wouldn’t appreciate the fun.
if there was never sun,
we wouldn’t appreciate the pain.
